ABOUT ME

I have over 25 years experience in clinical psychology for adults, adolescents and children.

I was born in Germany, where I worked as a music teacher. In 1987 I came to New Zealand and studied psychology at Victoria University of Wellington and completed my Diploma in Clinical Psychology in 1997.

In 2006 I trained in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and use this approach frequently. This includes gaining skills in Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I also use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I am ACC registered.

I work with people of different cultures, gender and sexual orientation.

I believe that people are individuals with their own unique histories and I therefore take a holistic approach to therapy.

I have also trained in:

  1. Depression and Anxiety

  2. PTSD

  3. Supervision

  4. Debriefing

  5. ADHD

  6. Motivational Interviewing

  7. Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

I also provide supervision to other therapists.
